IMPORTANT ADVISORY BY DANISH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

(issued on 18.03.2020)

With regards to extension of short stay visas and residence permits, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed as follows

It is currently not possible to apply for an extension of short stay visa in Denmark. This is due to the fact that the Danish Immigration Service’s citizen service is closed for visitors. Furthermore, it is not possible to apply for an extension online nor at the Danish Police.

However, the Danish Immigration Service has decided to disregard a possible overstay of a short stay visa period if it is caused by applicants being prevented from leaving Denmark, e.g. due to suspension of flights.

It is still possible to contact the Danish Immigration Service, here:https://www.nyidanmark.dk/en-GB/Contact-us/Contact-the-Danish-Immigration-Service as well as the Agency of Integration Recruitment and Integration, at following link, Click here
