The International Solar Alliance (ISA) Solar Fellow for the year 2026

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) Secretariat announces the commencement of the process for the selection of ISA Solar Fellow for the year 2026. ISA had launched the Solar Fellowship Scheme for Mid-Career Professionals for ISA Member countries in 2019. 

2.      Under this scheme, five batches have already graduated, and two batches are undergoing training at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India. The scheme is designed to benefit and encourage policy makers, planners, administrators, and managers in government, who have a public service commitment, a demonstrated leadership potential, and commitment to development in their own home country. 

Call for Applications for 8th Batch

3.      The ISA invites applications for the 8th Batch of candidates for admission to the Two-year M.Tech (Master of Technology) programme in Renewable Energy Technologies and Management (programme Code: ESR) at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. The course commences on 23 July 2026 and this year, it is open to all eligible applicants.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online through the PG International Admission Portal for the M.Tech (ESR) Programme, Renewable Energy Technologies and Management. The application may be accessed at:

 4.      ISA will sponsor a total of 20 candidates, drawn from all its member countries. The applicant will have to meet the eligibility criteria as set by IIT Delhi, as in the attached Annex. 5.       Some of the details of this scheme are as follows: 

a.      Programme Name: M.Tech in Renewable Energy Technologies and Management?

b.      Host Institution: Department of Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India; 

c.      Last date for nomination: 30th March 2026 (till 1600 hours IST)

 

Age: Not above 45 years for applicants from SIDS and LDCs, and not more than 40 years for applicants from other Countries. 

            i.          Qualifications: 4-year Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any of the following engineering discipline: Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Energy Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a Master?s and Master?s Degree in Physics, Electronics, or Applied Physics. with CGPA at least 6.00 on a 10-point scale or at least 60% marks in aggregate; (Applicants are requested to please submit copies of their certificate, with translation in English, in case certificate is in any other language) Students with Master?s Degree need to have completed at least 3 years in the under-graduate level and at least 2 years at the post graduate level. 

          ii.           Experience: Minimum 3 years 

         iii.           Tuition fee: USD 4500 [approx.] (to be paid by ISA); 

         iv.           Programme commencement: July 2026

          v.          Living Stipend: USD 750/month (to be paid by ISA up to 24 months)

         vi.           Air Fare: Economy class for the most direct route (ISA will bear the cost)  

       vii.           Health Insurance: Candidate?s responsibility. 

      viii.          Medium of Instruction: English 

6.      Each Member Country, Signatory Member Country (who have signed but not ratified) and Prospective Member Countries can nominate 2 candidates-one Candidate/Fellow each in Male/Female category.
